Initially I trained for a Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling at the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology at Regents College, London. I then successfully completed the Post-Graduate Diploma programme at the same institution. This involved both an academic and practical training in the major theoretical paradigms to psychotherapy including the psychodynamic, person-centred and existential approaches. Having felt inspired by existential psychotherapy, I decided to undertake further training. I completed the Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy in 2010 and am a fully qualified psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
2013 – certificate in CBT
2013 – 2014 Diploma in Integrative Supervision.
As a part of my commitment to professional development and for my own personal interest in the field I regularly engage in CPD activities such as attending workshops, conferences and training programs.
As well as working in private practice in Harley Street, London and central Cambridge, I am the College Counsellor at Newnham College, University of Cambridge.
In the past I have worked as a counsellor at Goldsmiths, University of London and also for the mental health charity, MIND. I have five years’ experience working as a psychotherapist in primary and secondary care in the NHS. My experience means that I have worked with a great variety of people from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of issues. I have experience working with people suffering from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bereavement and loss, relationships, divorce, separation, trauma and abuse, addictive behaviors, sexual difficulties and sexual identity, and work related issues.
My clinical work is regularly supervised by a UKCP registered practitioner. Furthermore, I am bound, and adhere fully, to the British Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP) code of ethics and good practice. I am also subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure. If you would like more information in respect of the professional codes, please visit BACP’s website.
I am a member of both the British Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling (MBACP) and of the Society for Existential Analysis.
